WELLIXCTON, August. 16. ojieaking in Ihe Ilouse of Represenlatives on 1lie Marriage Amendment Bill whic.li was passed, Hon. C. Jones ([uoted a return showing the nuntber of marriages contracted overseas by New Zealand personnel. There were 800 army marriages in United Kingdom, 135 in Italy and Ihe Aliddle East, 40 in Anstralia, 15 in South Ai'riea, iO in tlie Pacific and five in Canada, making a fotal of 1005. A total of 112 Waaes was married overseas, 100 of whom had returned to New Zealand. He did not lttive a fnll return eoncerning Now Zealand naval personnel but a total of 465 wives had arrived in New Zealand and it was estimated fliere were 50 more to come. A total of 1446 wives of New Zealand airforee personnel had arrived in New Zefiland, mostly from Creat Britain and" Canada, and it was estimated there were 100 wives still to come to the Dominion.
