Maintenanee oi public works and services £5,003,000 (£4,218,910). The vote meludes £70,000 for extraordinary damage to roads and liighvays due to military traffic. This was jireviously a cliarge of the War Expenses Account. There is £20,520 for tlie deinolition of air raid slielters and £50,000 (£925) for transit housiiig. Lands and btirvey Department: £779,834 (£002,885), the increase being largely due to tlie addition of 135 members to the stall' to cope with postwar expansion. Other items incliule aerial photographv £20,000, svvamp land drainage £11,000 (£2775), acquisition and admiiiistration of national parks £10,000 (£1827), acquisition and administration of recreation grounds and domains £50,500 (£5208), acquisition and adinmiStratiou of scenic aud historic reserves £8000 (£2208).
