Engine Derailed While shunting at the Shannon railway yards at about 10 p.m. on Tuesday evening, the engine of a south bound goods train was derailed near the Vance Street crossing. A recovery gang was on the scene early yesterday morning, and were able to replace the engine wiih the aid of jacks. Welcome for J-Force At an R.S.A. dance committee meeting, lield on Tuesday evening. it was decided that ihe welcome home social to resently-returned personnel from Italy and Japan should not be delayed any longer. • The motion of Mr. R. Hook, that the social be held on Monaay next, was accepted by the committee. Arrangements were made for the function, which will take the form of a dance, together wiuh musicai ' and vocal items.
