SATURDAY BARBER

Permission for exemption from the Rliops and Offiees Act, so that he could open for business on Saturdays, was sought by Ivan Tolich, hairdresser, in the Auckland Magistrate's Gourt. He submitted that many of his regular eustomers were workers, and unable to get tlieir liair cut except on Baturdavs. His loss through Baturday closing amounted to £3 a week, and tlie application was made to preserve his business. For the Auckland Tobaeeonists' and Hairdressers' Association ft was submitted that the granting of Tolich 's application would upset the ideas and desires of otlier hairdressers, who would be foreed to make similar applications. Refusing the application, Mr. L. G. H. Sinclair, S.M., eniphasised that the greatest public interest was that there ehould be. fair play in the trade.
