Personal Mr. $nd Mrs. Eskrigg, of Wellingiton, are visiting friends in Otaki. Mrs. Turkington, of Hamilton, is the guest of her daugnter, Mrs. L. Goodwin, Tasman Beach. Mrs. Geo. Brown, of Westport, and her small son are visiting Mr. and Mrs. S. Elliott. Mrs. J. Brewster is on vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. Brown, at Mt. Albert, Auckland. Mrs. Cahill lias returned from a deiightful tour of the South Island, where the weather was perfect. Mr. W. J. Crawford, one of the National Party nominees for tne Otaki seat, is among the visitors to Otaki. No Arrest Made Yet Although the police have been diligent concerning the week-end burglaries at the Civic Theatre and Mr. J. Mason's confectionary shop, no arrest has yet been made. National Caniliclate The choice of a National candidate for the Otaki seat will be made next Thursday night at a meeting in Otaki of delegates from all branches of the party throughout the electorate. Appreciation of Gifts The matron of ihe Otaki Sanatorium acknowledges with thanks magazines of an interescing cnaracter from Mrs. W. Wilson, Mrs. Crowley and Mrs. Turnbull, the latter also forwarding raffia for Gverseas. A generoys gift of ten new books has been received from Ihe Manakau Brownies for the patients' library.
