Ready to Go to China
Renairs which are bemg made to the Hwalien, formerly the interTsland steamer Maori, which is going to China, are practically . completed and it is expected she will make a trial run to the South Island on Friday to enable the engineers to check the engines which have been altered recently. The signing on of the crew is being undertaken and some members have already joined the ship. A final decision as to whether the Hwalien will take - passengers to Australia, has not yet been made.
