MR. L. J. WILD RESIGNS
AS FEILDING HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL Mr. L. J. Wild, headma.ster of Feilding Agriculture! Iligh School last evening tendered his resignation to the Board of 3Ianagors at its meeting when 31 r. A. C. Buist, aeting-chairman, paid tribute to his 25 years ' service to the scliool. As a man of science 31 r. Wild had brought to those under his care a fund of technical knowledge which played 110 small ]>art in creating for thc school a iiigh reputation a centre for the dissemination of sound and practical agricultural knowledge, he said. As an educatioualist, he had displayed unusual foresight and organising ability ever keepiug pace willi the tiines. As a leader aiul teacher his success and popularity was ahvavs in evidence at tlio wonderful gatheriugs of old pupils who assembled year by year to meet oue another and shake hands with the "old boss. ' ' "The oversceing of two farnas, his management of the hostel and the successful supervision of a large co-edu-cational higli school embracing agricultural, aeademic, arts, coinmercial and domestic courses are aehievemeuts of which Mr. Wild mav well be proud," said Mr. Bui,st. "Tlie Royal Agricultural (Society and other important bodies have rccognised his work and have honoured liini with elevation to their presidcncies. Altogether the retirement of Mr. Wild will be sincerely regretted by all, as somehow the name Feilding Agricultural High School and L. J. Wild seom synonomous and one anticipated a separation should be effected only by special Act of Parliament.
