STALL AND STREET DAY
CHILDREN'S PLAY CENTRE For some time the need for a ehiidren's play centre in Levin has been realised. The object of such a centre is to relieve mothers of the necessity for taking their children with thiem while shopping, and during dental and medical appointments. In these days of few deliveries by tradespeople, the addition of' a burden of parcels to the difficulty of handling refractory infants does not tend to make a mother's lot an altogether happy one. To raise funds for the establishment of a centre the committee appointed for its organisation has decided to hold a shop day, when lieedlework, knit'ted wear, potted meats, vegetahles, sweets, jams, and marmalade will be offered for sale. The ppblic are invited, not only to support the shop day, but to make donations to this worthy and practical cause. They will have the opportunity to do this, as a street appeal is to be held in conjunction with the shop day.
