REGENT THEATRE
TO-DAY AND TO-MORROW ■ ''Umpity-poo" is the phrase which is the watchword of Michael Balcon's new film, "Nine Men," a drama of the Libyan campaign, which comes to the Regent Theatre on Tuesday and Wednesday. It .neans a "little hit extra," and is ■ised as a sign between the soldiers n the story. These nine men themselves have "umpity-poo," so director Harry Watt determined that the picture's cast should have it, too. The result is that one of fche chief parts is played bv an exsergeant of the Durhan Light Infantry who was awarded the Military Medal for an ac't'ion during the fall of France. Some time after the story of "Nine Men" had been written, Harry Watt learned of the award which had just been made this man and the heroism behind it. The spirit of Sergeant Jack Horsman's action was exactly that I • of one of the characters in "Nine Men." The nine men are played [ by: Jack Lambert, Gordon Jackson, Frederick Piper, Grant Sutherland, Bill Blewett, Eric Micklewood, John Varlcy, Richard Wilkinson, Jack Horsman. Supports include the latest March of Time, "Where's the Meat."
