EARTHQUAKE TOLL
Received Runday, 7 p.m. OIUDAD TRUJILLO, August 9. Widespread panic and an acute food sliortage are reported from the northern provinees of the Dominican RepubliC, vvhere continuing eartlic|uakes and tidal waves have killed at least 73. In addition, more severe earthquakes and tre.mors have been felt in most parts of the republic at about fLve-miu-ute intervals ever since last Runday's initial sliocks. The north coastal towns have been entirely abandoned. A severe shalce yesterday is lcnown to have injured at least 130 persons in the Cabrera-Bohio area.
