WELLINGTON, August. 9. The head of the Ralvation Army in New Zealand for the last 6?, years Coinmissiouer J. Evan 8mith has been appointed to the eommand of the Soutliern Anstralia terntory with head(limrters at Molbourne and embracing Ihe States of Victoria, South Anstralia Western Anstralia and Tasmania. The territory is one of the largest in ex'tent The Commissioner succeeds Commissioner W. R. Dalziel who has been appoinl ed British Commissioner. TTe will take up his new duties in October. Commissioner Sniith has not completed plans for a farewell tour but expects to carry out Youth Dav council meetings alreadv announced for Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland, making Ii is public farewell on a Mondav night at each centre — Christchurch. Sejitember 9, Wellington, September 16 and Auckland, September 23.
