WEDDING AT OTAKI

SIMCOX — MONK A wedding of considerable interest to Otaki and district was solemised at SA11 Saints' Church recently, when Carol Lily, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Monk, of Otaki, was married to John William, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Simcox, of Otaki. Canon Fry officiated, while Mrs. S. Simcox presided at the organ. The " bride, who entered the church with her father, made a charming picture in her white embossed cloque frock, made with softly-draped bodice, heart-shaped neck of long sleeves, finished with buttons. The skirt fell in a full train, while the frock was finished at the back with buttons forming a peak on the train. Her beautiful embroidered veil, kindly lent for che occasion, fell to form a second train from a halo of bleated net and orange blossoms, and she carried a shower bouquet of white carnations, cyclamens,, winter roses and maidenhair fern. The bride also wore a cameo pendant, brought back from Italy by the oridegroom. The bride wap attended by her sister, Miss Iris Monk, and a cousin, Miss Jean Bowden, of Levin, as bridesmaids. Their frocks of pink and blue en\bossed cloque were made on similar lines, with long-fitti'ng bodices, heart-shaped necks and very full skirts. The frocks were finished with self frilling at wai'st and neck. They wore scalloped halos in their hair, and carried bouquets of pink carnations, cyclamens, blue irises and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom was attended by his two brathers, Messrs. Heath and Guyon Simcox as best maia and groomsman. The three brothers have all seen many years' overseas service in the army and navy. After the wedding a reception was held in lhe„ Anglican Hall, where Mr. and Mrs. Monk, assisted by Mr. and Mrs. Simcox, received about 70 guests. Mrs. Monk wore a black suit and hat, with shoulder spray in cycjamen tonings, while Mrs. Simcox was attired in a blue suit and hat and her shoulder spray was in pink tonings. The usual toasts were honoured, Canon Fry ably carrying out the duties of toastmaster. In the toast list special menti'on was made of the bride's sister, Mrs. V.La Greca, now residing in America, who had sent heartiest eongratulations and good wishes. - The young" ' couplfe were the. recipients of many valuable and useful gifts, besides numerous cheques and! congratulatory telegrams. Later in the day the bride and bridegroom lsft for a tour of tne north, the bride wearing a moss green frock, tan coat and hat with tan accessories.
