WELLINGTON, August 8. Wh.nr the Auckland Press Association massage regarding the stall ' of tlie troopship Chitral, was referred to him, the Minister of Defence, IMr. Jones, said he was not aware eertain personnel from the Chitral had been put ashore to remain in New Ze;>land. He added he would have an inmiediate investigation made of the situation to ascertain wliy the men were put off the ship and the conditions under which tliey had to stay in New Zealand.
