MAGISTRATE'S COURT
MONTHLY SITTING IN OTAKI The monthly sitting of the Otaki Magistrate's Court was held yesterday,' when Messrs. W. McBeth and H. B. Edhouse, J's.P., heard cases as under: — Exceeding. the speed limit m a heavy motor vehicle eost Louis James Matthews £2 10s, with 11s costs. Irwin Leonard Straker and Herbert Claude Jones were fined £3 and £2 respectively for a similar offence, costs in each case being 10s. A fine of £3, with 10s costs, was imposed on Harry J . Arcus for exceeding the speed lvnit of 40 m.p.h. For allowing stock to wander Stanley Elliott was fined 10s, wnn 11s costs. For similar offences fines of 5s in each instance were imposed on William Hammond, Ryder Bros., Matenga Baker and Atutahi Bishop. Costs in the case of Hammond were 12s and 10s for each other defendant.
