JUMPED FROM TRAIN WHILE UNDER ESCORT
Reeeived Tliursday. S.55 p.m. . S.YDX"EY, August 8. Climbing through a lavatorv window, a Koyal Xavy rating . on liis way to Sydnev under escort, leaped from the Brisbaue express near the Hawkesbury Rivor today and escaped. The escapee is a stoker, aged 20. He jumped when the train was moving slowly uphill. Inrnrediately the escort became aware of his absence, the emergency communication cord was pulled and the escort gave cha.se. Passengers reported that they had seen a man running towards the liuslies. A full scale police search is now being made and all stalions have been warned.
