SNOW AT MT. COOK
WELLINGTON, August 6. A heavy fall of snow is reported at Mt. Cook. Advice from the llermitage mdicates that sseven inehes fell there last niglit and eighteen inehes at Ball hut. The Minister of Tourist and Health Resorts, llon. W. E. Parry, said this was good nevvs fo ■ skiing enthusiasts whose s]iort had suffered as the result of the mild winter. It was anticipated large numbers of skiers would take advantage of the good conditions now operating as the result of last niglit 's heavy snow falls.
