Ele.ven Taranaki and four King Country Rugby players liave been seleeted to represent the combined unions against the Australians at- New Plymouth on August 24. The team was
announced at Taumarunui after what the manager of the Taranaki representatives, Mr. C. Brown, described as Qtlie finest wet weather game since 1904." Taranaki won 13 to 6. The team is: — Full-back, Johns; three-quarters, Cartwright, Roper, Jamieson; tiveeighths, Ridland, Novak; half-back, Cameron; back row, Dunn; middle row, Wetton, Marriner, Bryers, Wills; front row, Walker, Horrocks, Mitchison. Emergencies: Backs, Boswell, Conrad; forwards, West, Gayton. Oonsidering the conditions it was rcally amazing Rugby. With tlieir forwards ou.tplaying tlieir heavier opposifion, the visitors scored tries tha't would have done credit to a rep. team in ideal weather. King Country was heavier, but the success of the Taranaki forwards was better pack'ing in the tight and more coneentrated efforts in the loose.
