PIGS IN SHORT SUPPLY There was a large yarding of fat and store sheep at the Levin weekly stock sale yesterday and prices were on a par with last week. The entry of dairy cattle was small and only high grade stock was sought after. Fat cattle were in good supply, with a medium yarding of store cattle. Pigs were in short supply with realisations good, but the demand was gre&£er ,than the supply. The following prices were realised: — Sheep: Fat ewes, 16s 6d to 21s; prime, 28s, 32s to 34s ld; fat wethers, 32s lOd, 35s 4d, 36s 4d, 38s lOd to -£2 3s 4d; fat lambs, 24s 4d, 26s 7d, 30s to 32s lOd; small store wether hoggets, 16s to 18s: store ewe hoggets, 18s to 21s; ewes r.w.S.D. rams, 29s 3d. Cattle: Medium heifers on drop, £9 10s to £10 10s; good heifers on drop, £11 10s to £12 10s; cows close to profit, £8 10s, £9 10s to £11 15s: yearling heifers, £4 15s, £5 10s to £6; boner cows, £2 10s, £3 15s, £4 10s to £5; light veal, £2 2s 6d, £2 7s 6d to £2 15s; medium, £3 5s to £4 12s 6d; heavy, £5 17s 6d, £6 7s 6d, £6 17s 6d, £7 2s 6d to £7 7s 6d; runners, £5 17s 6d, £6 7s 6d to £8 2s 6d; fat bullocks, £15 2s 6d to £17 17s 6d; fat P.A. heifers, £11 2s 6d to £12 17s 6d; fat P.A. cows, £8 2s 6d to £9 2s 6d; fat ex-dairy cows, £5 12s 6d, £6 7s 6d, £7 2s 6d to £8 10s. Pigs: Light pork, £2 8s to £2 16s; medium, £3 5s to £3 14s; sow to farrow, £4 5s; weaners. 32s 6d; heavier, £2 13s.
