"HELL OF AN ARGUMENT"
LONDON, August 5. While the Ameriean destroyer Perry was standing by, the British steamer 1 Elizabeth 's eaptain, Millers, and the captain of the Ameriean mercliantman { Ameriean Banger, were having a "hell 1 of an argument" over the £1,125.000 prize. Millers put a tow rope on the Americau Farmer but, says tlie Daily Express, the Ameriean Banger raced to the seene soon after and also put aboard a prize crew whieli threw off the tow rope. When the Ameriean Banger was seen to be lowering boats, -Millers signalled, "Keep off. She is 1111110.' ' The Ameriean lioats lield their j eourse, drew alongside and the crew l swarmed aboard. After a few minutes tlie Bed Ensign tiuttered down from the Ameriean Farmer and the Stars and Stripes was ruu up in -its plaee. The Ameriean Farmer is now reported to be sailing under its own steam to Bristol Channel. The Ameriean Farmer 's agents eommented: "We told Captain Johnson of the Ameriean Banger to eall on a destroyer for aid if necessary. " ' ' It is a niost high-handed aetion, ' ' said the Elizabeth 's direetor, Mr. Goldsmith. "It is our prize and as far as 1 am eoncerned, still is. 1 hardlv think our men would be turned off without a fight. "
