Fines totalling £42 lf)s were imposed by Mr. G. G. Chishblm in the Ashburton Magistrate's Court on Neville Boag, Stanley Holder, Jim Weir and Robert B. Hajrt on two charges of taking acclimatised fish from Lake Heron by means other than a rod and line and taking fish during the closed season. It was mentioned to the Court by counsel for the society that Holder was a police sergeant and Boag was a constable. Weir was fined £7 10s on one charge and all the defendants were fined £5 on the other charge.
