CHRISTCHURCH, August 4. A Merivale haker, Mr. F, C. Platt, who was warned hy the . Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Baking Trades Union of Workers that he would he declared "black" if he per- - sisted in haking and delivering bread on Saturdays, will disregard the warning and continne to work on Saturdays. Mr. Platt, who has heen haking and delivering on Saturdays for some weeks,- announced yesterday that he intended to disregard the decision reaChed hy the union that bakers and their assistants should work only from Monday to Friday, and said: "My staff are 100 per cent. behind me and I have the full support of my customers." He added that people had heen telephoning him incessantly since he had made his decision, congratulating him on his stand.
