INVERCARGILL, Aug. 3. It is reported from Edendale that a car proceeding south to Invercargill with five passengers met with an aeci dent at six o 'clock this morning on tlu Edendale Hill. Two passengers were Imrned to death, and three others were taken to hospital. The men are: — MR. LES PALMER, 7 Dmican Street J Dunedim " "" MR. STANLEY B ARDWELL, a«ed 35 address not stated. Botli were employees of the Roslyr. Woollen Mills. Injured Mr. Charles Robert Wilson, aged 35 Main Road, Tomahawlc; burns to tluhands and fac.e, shock; conditioa serions. Arr. Kitchener Wilson, 9aged 29, of 27 Glenelg Street, Dunedin; burns to the hands and faee, shoelc; conditio:. serious. Mr. Frank Wheeler, aged 28, of 34 Main North Road, Dunedin; abrasions and shoelc; condition satisfactory. The car was a taxi belonging to the Victory Taxis, Dunedin, containing the driver'and four passengers. The vehicle was negotiating the Brydone Hill, a small incline on the main Invercargill Gore highway.
