In truth the Devil is a Scriptural personification of sin in the flesh, in it: several phases of manifestation — subjective, individual, aggregate. social, and political, in history current experience, and prophecy; after the style of metaphor which speaks of wisdom as a woman, riches as mammon and the god of this world, sin as master, etc. Remember that: — "Every man is tempted, when he is' drawn away of his OWN lust, and enticed."
