Lieutenant-General Jolin Xorthcott, the iirst Australian born Governor of ] Xew Soutli Wales and the lirst untitled j person to hohl that position since .Major-General Eaehlan Alacijuarie, was j sivorn in today in an iinpressive ceremony at Goveriunent House. He arrived tlris morning by the destroyer Arunta from Ylelbourne and was weleomed by i the Premier, .Mr. McKell, at Man-o-war | Steps. The new Governor then drove | th rough a flag draped eity in brilliant sunshine. A salute of 17 guns markecl his arrival aud another was lired when he took the oalh.
