AUCKLAND, August 1. The establishment of District Rose Societies, the provision of regular supplies pf roses for hospitals and the fostering of rose gardens in public places and main airports, were proposals for development approved at the annual meeting of the National Rose Society of New Zealand held at Auckland. The following olficers werp ielected: President emeritus, Mr. F. Penn ( Aui.'k land); president, Mr. 1J. Bennett (Waikato); viee-presidents, Messrs J. Connelly (Auckland), W. G. Ponntne; (Hamilton), H. W. Tolan (Lower Hutt), F. Mason (Feilding), G. Slatei (Napier), R. McPherson (Christchurch); delegates, Messrs S. R. Bird J. Connelly, H. Cutler, N. Cutler, F. , Penn, Colonel C. Worley (all of Auckland), Messrs H- F. King, R. Mclntyre, A. G. Scott (Waikato), H. W. Bell (Hutt Yalley).
