PLEASANT TEA FUNCTION 4 l^rgp npmb.er pf the members of the Levin ' Junior Chamber of Commerce met in the Oxford Tearooms last ev.erfing fbr a bpffet tea. These teas will become a nionthly. .feature, of the chamber 's activities. The presiden't (Mr. D. * J." Sweetzer) anp the secretary (Mr. G. H. Sorenson) were present. The gathering was entirely informal, and talks were given by Messrs. Frank Croot and H. Thorley. Mr. Croot spoke of the leather industry in New Zealand, describing the various processes apd types of leather that were used in different branches of the industry. The firm was training local mpn and when more supplies became available, more men would be'taken on.
