AUCKLAND, July 31. For the first time in . Auckland a butcher's shop has elosed owing to, acc-ording to its Qwn notice, "a stoppage of all wliolesale supplies of rationed meat temporarily by the Food Controller. " The slio'p will reopen 011 August 5. According to the Food Controller (Mr. A. J.' Costelloe), who was interviewed by telephone this morning, the situation is not new in other parts of New Zealand. He said that liutehers in Wellington, Christchurch and Invercargill had already had this experienee, the reason being ithat the liutehers had 1 apparently omitted to collect coupons 1 from customers and, therefore, did not have sufficient coupons to entitle them to collect tlieir next quota of meat. klr. Costelloe added that the liutehers were required to lodge their coupons at trading , banks each week.
