ROCKET ASCENDS 104 MILES INTO AIR

Received Wednesday, 7 p.m. ■ NEW YORE, July 30. Army teehnicians at Whitesands, New Mexico, fired a V2 roeket to a heigkt of 104 miles, eclipsing by 23.6 miles the highest previous altitude. The rocket fell 69 miles from the launching point. Instraments carried in the nose came down separately intact and are expected to provide valuable information ahout cosmic rays, temperatures ancl pressures.
