, ■ — The usual mid-week competiffons took place un the Mangaore Goif Club's iinks on Wednesday j afternoon, but play was curtailed I owing to unfavourable weather j conditions. The best cards handed in by those who completed the | round were those of Mrs. T. Boon ; 98—22 — 76, Mrs. Elvines 114 — 30 — ! 84 and Mrs. Robinson 118 — 30 — 88. There was no play on the links on Saturday afternoon, the heavy rain throughout the day making jhe greens unfit for playing on. Sunday afternoon saw better playing conditions early in the day, but heavy showers during theHatter part of the afternoon made playing conditions very trying. A iarge gathering of members attended and in spite of the weather all completed their rounds. A bisquet competition was held and the results were as follows: Ladies, Mrs. Lester 73 nett and six up, Mrs. T. Boon 73 nett and two up. Men: J. Beech, all square, J. Baker, one down and A. Simes two down. "Handicap Recluctions The handicap committee report the following reductions in handicaps: Mrs. Boon reduced from 26 to .25 and Mr. Lester reduced from 29 to 28.
