Personal Mr. J. D. Campbell, of Mangaore, has returned frcm his recent holiday in Wellington. Mr. Wright and Mr. Sloan were Wellington visitors to Shannon yesterday. , Mrs. Broderson, of Nathan Terrace, is spending a short holiday in Wellington. Mr. N. Gordon was a visitor 10 Shannon over the week-end, aod was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. if. J. Gunning. Mr. W. Taylor was a visitor ovei che week-end, and was the guest of his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor, Stout Street. The friends of Mrs. Munford wili De pleased to hear that she is progressing favourably after her recent operation at a Palmerston North private hospital. Euchre Winners Mrs. E. Thorne and Mr. McLaggan were the prize winners in ti\ weekly euchre tournament heicl :n naurvig's Hall on Friday evening. Mishap in Rain A snght mishap occurred on ilie corner of Stafford Street and Ihe main road late on Saturday nignt oeiwecn a light truck and .1 ihree icatcr car. Slight damage was done .o the side of the truck and to a u'ont i'ender of the car. However, none of the occupants suffered mjury and both vehicles proceeded after a short hold-up. Heavy rain was falling at the tiriie and visibilny was very bad.
