AUCKLAND, .Julv 27. Tn a special statemeut to tlie Prqss the Prime Minister said that, on learning from a morning newspaper of the rejiorted suspension of jrr. Juliiis Hyde who interrupted tlie proceedings of Parliament on Fridav in a badge throwing incident, he got in touch with the Public Service Commissioner and requested him, on behalf of the Governnient, to cancel Mr. Hyde's suspension and have him reinstated without any disadvantage or disqualiiication. Mr. Fraser added that he was present in the Ilonse when tlie brief interruption took place and he was of the opinion, which was supported by others who witnessed the incident, that Mr. Hyde was under great emotional strain at the time. In Ihe circumstances it would be most unjust to penalise him in any wav whatsoever. Mr. Fraser said lie understood Mr. Hyde was a good public 'servant and nothing that transpired in the House should in any way prejudice him in his employment.
