Vickers' airfield, Ripley, Hurrey, will eoniprise four blue painted twin-engined Yiekers Viking planes each powered with two 1675 horsepower Bristol Hercules engines. The planes liave a range of 1000 to 1600 miles, aceording to the load, and a cruising speed of 215 m.p.h. The Daily Telegraph 's aviation correspondent says the King is travelling to South Africa by warship but the Elight will follow and is likely to be extensively used during the Royal tour lasting from February to April. One Viking will be used by the King and another by the Queen as it is considered inadvisable that both sliould travel in the saine plane. A third will carry the Flight's ground crew and the fourth is htted up as a flying workshop. All will be lavishly equipped with radar and other navigational aids.
