AURORAL DISPLAYS LIKELY

WELLINGTON, July 26. The sunspot first reported on Monday is 130,000 miles long, said the director of the Carter Observatory, -Mr. I. L. Thomsen. The spot was very large and eomplicated, and a great number of nucelei were easily visible to the naked eye. He emphasised that observers must use smoked glass or other protective covering.
