GALLANTRY MEDAL FOR DOG
Received Tuesdav, 7 p.m. SYDNEY, July 23. A special medal for gallantry has been presented by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cfueltv to Animals, to the Alsatian dog Paddy, who helped to sa^"o a two year oi(l boy from drowning in the Nepean River on July 3. The dog's barking and eagerness resulted in the child being rescued from twentv feet of water. The presentation was made at the celebratioii of the 73rd anniversarv of the Society in New South Walcs. Everybody was happy [ about it but Paddy who was carsick for the whole of the 30 miles jouniev to Sydney.
