PIG VALUES INCREASE
TIIE LEVIN STOCK MARKET There were full yardings of fat sheep and fat- cattle at the weekly stock sale in Levin yesterday. A full clearance of recent rates was effected throughout all lines. Dairy entries were light and there was again a short supply of pigs, rqsulting in a sharp increase in realisacions. Vealers brought very good prices. Following is a r&nge of prices : —
Sheep: Light fat ewes, 22s lOd, 24s ld to 25s 7d; heavier, 2'6s 7d, 27s 7d, 28s 7d to 29s lOd; prime heavy, 30s lOd, 31s 4d to 32s lOd; light wethers, 33s lOd to 35s 6d; heavier, 36s lOd to 37s 4d; prime, 38s 4d, 3SS lOd to 40s 4d; light fat lambs, 22s 7d, 24s 7d to 24s 10d; medium, 25s lOd to 27s ld; prime, 29s lOd, 30s 10di to 32s ld; store sheep, 22s 7d, 25s to 27s; small ewe lambs, 16s 9d to 17s; wether lambs. 23s 7d. Cattle: Light veal, £4 7s 6d to £5 2s 6d; medium, up to £6 2s 6d; prime, £6 12s 6d to £6 15s; runners, £7 17s 6d. £8 12s 6d to £9 7s 6d; fat P. A. cows, £9 7s 6d, £10 17s 6d to £11 12s 6d; light fat P.A. bullocks, £14 17s 6d to £15 17s 6d; heavier, to £17 2s 6d; fat P.A. heifers, £9 7s 6d to £12 17s 6d; ex-dairy jersey cows, £7 7s 6d to £9 7s 6d; springing heifers, due August-Septem-ber, £9 15s, £10 10s to £11 5s: heifrs close to profit, £12, £12 5s, £13 5s to £14 10s.
