New Zealand lost one of her eminent surgeons in Dr.'John Miller, who 'died at Palmerston North on July 19. He was'born in Glasgow in 1881 and secured his early education in Scotland and his medical training at Edinburgh and Dunedin. Dr. Milier practised for some years at Wairoa, Hawke's Bay, later moving to Auckland for a short time befor'e he finally settled in Palmerston North. Apart from general practice he Was for many years a prominent figure among the surgeons at Palmerston North Hbspital. He was a keen fisherman and golfer, arid d stiident of Scottish history and lore.
