(2,688,863 lbs.) ; butter made, 2,782, 696 lbs. representing 1233 tons (3,267,182 lbs. representing 1458 i tons) ; average grade, 93.586 (93.667) ; over-run, 20.66 (21.50) ; total charges per lb. butter-fat to f.o.b., 1.6708 (1.5388) store saies, £39,105 (£36,721); .cream grades, finest, 90.1 (93.7); -first, 9.5 (5.8); second, .4 (.5). The discovery of a cigarette butt in aToaf, led to the appcarance in the Auckland Court of George Findlay, managing director of a bakery finn, chargcd with permitting a loaf to become polluted by being bakcd vdth a- cigarette butt in it. The magistr'ate, said Findlay was responsible for the acts of his servants. Master bakcrs knew smoking went on in bakehouses and there was no reason why that sort of thing shoulcl be allowed to continue. A finc of £5 was imposed.
