The agency seeured for Mr. Fletcher a bay' eolt by Oasanova out oi Grass Widow — three-quarter brother to Sunstroke which has won several races this year — and a ehestnut filly by Couj, JL)e Lion out of Early Doors. For Mr. Fisher, the agency bouglit a ehestnut filly by Taiyong out oi Varena — tho same family as Coronacli. No prices are available. It is hoped that the three yearlings and two stallions, Timanova and Subterfugo, and the filly, Lady -Nikotine, will be shipped to New Zealand at the end of this month. FOREIGN HORSES AND JOCKEYS EXCLUDED The exclusion ot' English and foreign jookeys and horses and an increase oi ihe lieenee fee by 700 per cent., are among Ihe conditions the Congress Government oi Bombfiy is attacliing to the renewal .oi the licence of the Koyal Western Indian Turf Club, says Rculer's Bombay correspondent. The situation has- resulted in a deadlock. The Government asks a fee of £150,000 and insists on the progressivc but rapiu abolition of thc running of English, Arab and other foreign horses, the exclusion of all foreign jockeys, and the inclusion of Government appoiutees to the club 's stewards and committee. The Government says it wishes to enc.ourage the Indian bloodstoek industry, to seciire a share of the profits from raeing, and to diseourage gambling bv eompclling the club to reduce stake money.
