' OPENING DAY FEBRUARY 4 At the last meeting of-the coun- ( cil of the New Zealand Bowling j Association, Mr. Lock said that to hold the 1947 tournament in Wellington in January would be- a .very difflcult matter, owing to the fa'ct ^ that accommodation in- the hotels between Januuary 13 and 25 would : be booked months ahead by the j many visitors to the- yearling saies and race meeting. He would assure , the eouncil that the matter haa I very seriously been considered by j very seriously been considered by i the changed date of the com- j mencement of the tournament. | Another aspect was that the wea-, ther in February would' probably be better than in the previous ; month.
