TELEGRAM ADDRESSES

IMPORTANCE OF NECESSARY DETAILS The post office requires that the address of a telegram be sufficient to avoid the necessity of consulting electoral rolls, directories. or other services of information at the office of delivery, states th'e postmaster, Mr. L. A. Whitham. Considerable trouble is experienced owing to the laxity of the public, and in view of the fact that usually telegrams are of an important nature such information as telephone or street numbers should invariably be given. The position is not improved by the severe shortage of delivery staff s, particularly in the larger towns, and the post office would welcome the co-operation of the public in this important matter.
