This is 2370i higher tlian the total sliown by ihe previous revision up to Oetober 31, 1045. The increase is largely the result of the trausfer from the liumbers sliown as niissiug aud prisoners-of-war not accounted for lo the total sliown as killed. The total 31,123 killed includes 5542 prisouers of war who died of disease or injury in euemy hauds. Of these 110 died in German areas, and 5432 died in Japanese areas. The total Australiau casualties in the war against Germany and her Western Allies were 3fi.5'50 and in the war against Japan | 59,363.
