COMMITTEE MEETING The full committee of the Shannon War Memorial Hall met in the Council Chambers on Wednesday evening. - Mr. R. R. Lind presided over Messrs. R. Hook (secretary) , W. J. Bateman, H. Aitchison and J. Sinclair. The chairman reported on nis efforts to obtain options on suitable sections, but the results had not been too satisfactory. Mr. Bateman also reported on sections :around the town, and was delegated by the committee to go further into the matter and if possible : obtain options on two likely sections. It was moved that the committee call a public meeting and submit the proposals decided upon forj the means of raising funds for the hall. After some discussion it was I agreed that the most satisfactory method of raising funds was to Imake a canvas for voluntary dona- ! tions. A discussion took place as to the boundaries of the district and the areas to be allotted to the various sub-committees for the canvasg. It was decided to ca-ll another meeting of the committee next ■ Wednesday evening and a public meeting two weeks later.
