HAND-GRENADES THROWN AT DANCE
Received Thursdav, 7 p.m. ' LOXDON, July 17. Five hand-grenades were thrown against a British warrant officers' and sergeants' club while a dance tvas being held tonight, says Reuter's Alexandria eorrespondent. At least 45 persons, ineluding 12 girls and two Egyptian waiters, wcre injured and four are in a serious condition. It is 'reported that a black sedan of Italian type, which was stationed outside the club, drove off aftcr the explosions. A British military policeman fired a revolver, hitting the car as it drove off. Mr. Sidkv Paslia has announced a £5000 reward for information leading' to tlie arrest of those responsible for tlie grcnade tlirowing. He said it was a dastardly act which shocked him, and added tliat it would be particularly grievous to him if t.he inquiry estab- ; lished tliat tke authora were Egyptians.
