WOMEN'S INSTITUTES

OTAKI'S JULY MEETING The July meeting of the Otaki W.I. was held in the Anglican Hall on Thursday afternoon. There was a good attendance and the meeting was opened with the singing of the institute song. The president (Mrs'.-Lumley) welcomed all members and visitors.- - After the usuai routine business had been completed, the collection of fat and donations for the food for Britain campaign were discussed:, and it was arranged to send monthly parcels. It was also decided to hold a concert early in August for drama funds. Mrs. Delicate, of Plimmerton W.I., gave some most enjoyable items, which were greatly appreciated by all. A dainty afternoon tea was then served by the hostesses, Mesdames Percival, Ralph, Robertson, Radcliffe and Ross. The winners of the competitions were: Best knitted bonnet, Mrs. Ashwin; best fiower, Mrs. Berry; best shrub, Mrs. Adamson. The meeting was brought to a ov.oo wich tne singing of the National Anthem.
