ACTIVITIES OF OTAKI GOLF CLUB

PLAY OVER THE WEEK-END The weather with its occasional showers proved a* little unsettling i to Otaki golfers over the week- J end, though exceptional cards were ; returned for the Len Shepherd i Memorial qualifying round on Sat- j urday afternoon, the last five or ■ six holes for players being completed in heavy rain. Further j matches were played off on Sunday | to bring the captain's trophy and; Dovey D'Ath Memorial events a stage nearer the final. Len Shepherd Memorial Played on Saturday afternoon, this event drew a very good muster of players. Conditions, though a little wet in places, were good till ; about 3.30, when heavy rain commenced to fall, continuing to 4 o'clock, when it cleared off again. Though most players were caught in the open, this apparently did not deter any of the good scorers. The highest flgure to qualify was 75, only three strokes over handicap.
