NORTHEAST PASSAGE
RUSSIAN INVESTIGATION Reeeived Monday, 11.20 p.m. LONDON, July 15. A Russian expedition from Leningrad will winter on Bennett Island, 900 nuies from tlie North Pole, report.s Reuter's Moscow correspondent quoting Tass. Aircraft will maintain communications with Ihe expedition which will invesugate the north east passage. The Soviec Government intends to develop the passage as one of its main transport arteries by 1950.
