HUNT AT HAUTERE
LARGE GATHERING There was a large and enthusiastic following at the meet of the Manawatu Hunt Club, which was held at Hautere on Saturday last. Hounds met at Mr. V. J. Cottle's and threw off in Mr. Frank Best's, working from there over Mr, Cottle's and adjoining properties. Hares were pienciful and the bounds were always keen on the scent, but owing to the abundanc.e of cover there were no kills.
This season has seen a numoer of young members following, ano it is _ sausiying to note the good standard of riding and jumping which they have aiready attamed. Aftef the run riders and spectators were entertained at afterncon tea at the homestead of Mr. aua Mrs. V. J. Cottle. Followers were: — Messrs. J. H. Vickers (master) on "Glen"; D. C.
