Gromvko's strong oppos- j ilion, t.lie Atomic Commission full work- ; ing committee agreed to the Australian j proposals for the establishment of com- | inittees to examine the mechaftical and j legal aspects of international atpmic I control. It was decided that each com- ' mittee should consist of one delegate of each nation represented on the Atoniic Commission. Alr. Gromyko voted against the appointment of the first committee to recommend meaSures of control and sanctions and to ensure the prcvention of the nse of atomic energy for destructive purposes. Poland abstained from voting. Russia alone opposed the appointment of the second | committee to study legal questions but I after much argument, supported the ap- I pointment of a committee of technical I experts.
