-tieceived Saturday, 10.10 a.m. LONDON, July 12. A cry of "Give us Bread" in an angry chorus interrupted the Minister of Food, Mr. John Strachey, when he met representatives of master bakers from all parts of the country. There were 300 other people in the body of the hall, and their cries for bread and other interjections were a chorus behind the main argument between Mr. Strachey and the f bakers. Mr. Strachey, who maintained that there was a necessity for rationing and gave an assurance that it would continue no longer than was necessary, rebuked the noisy protesters by saying: "Angry shouts won't lead us to a clear conclusion." • _ The bakers presented a petition with 250,000 names, pro- ■ esting against bread rationing. The bakers' spokesman said the industry was frankly apprehensive that the whole system of distribution would be disturbed to the point of eollapse by rationing. _ Mr. Strachey, shaken by the swelling volume of interjections, admitted that the unpopularity of bread rationing was obvious, but he could only repeat that it was necessary to ensure the national food supply. Ilousewives representing all parts of England and Scotland will meet in Trafalgar Square on Sunday, bringing antibread ralioning petitions to his Majesty, based on the Citizens' Bill of Rights, with nearly a quarter of a million signatures. ■ a
