On the 'plough, Blackwater (Saunders) hit out freely to sprint the last tliree furlongs of his work in 41se.c. He linished close up beliind the placedhorses last Saturday and appears to have sharpened up with the race. After negotiating four liurdles satisfactorily, Lanoma (Buchanan) eleared a couple of brush fences safely.,-' Beau Jewel (Baker) and Roekanui (robins) jumped three pony hui'dles, and were tlien sent over four of tlie bigger fences. Beau Jewel was tlie niore impressive and gives promise of being useful in 1 his braiieh. Dualiu (i\liss White) schooled over nine steeplechase fences on the outside of tlie coursc proper. He made no niislakes, liut a])peared to lac.k confidenee at sonie of his fences. Indiau Sign pull.ed up well after his race last week and worked keenly over a couple oi' circuits on the inside grass. His chances in the July Steeplechase on Saturday will be cnlianced if furthef rain f'alls.
